I know it's nearly impossible to have a blast in Vegas on a bargain. But it doesn't hurt to hunt for great recommendations from my trusted Yelpers. I need recommendations from experienced Vegas folks. Here are my questions:

    1) Any reasonably priced restaurants on or off the strip that ar yummy?

    2) Which Vegas shows are worth watching? I was thinking LOVE, STOMP, Zumaity, O Cirque du Soleil, and Blue Man Group.

    3) Fun places for a couple. I heard lounges rather than night clubs.

    4) Any other tips, please don't hesitate to share with me. The more, the better. I love a variety of options.

watch some shows... walk around and explore. Possibly go and just visit hotels to check them out if you haven't been there? Be a tourist.

Travel Zoo has some discount for shows: shows.travelzoo.com/las-…

  1. For cheap and tasty steak plus homemade beers, check out Ellis Island, which is barely a block off the strip.

I love love love Marrakesh...off the strip morroccan restaurant. 6 course meal for $39.95 (tip: make a reservation beforehand). Fun times and great food. whether ina couple or a group.  Also in the same complex Firefly (they have great tapas and super yummy sangria)

Shows: I've seen O and KA and thought both were great! Also agree with the travelzoo tip.

Hey Nelly. My sis just got back from LV and saw 'Stomp'. She was disappointed. She wouldn't recommend it.

Blue Man Group is a good show, however expensive...even from the half-price ticket locations along the Strip.  O is a great show too, but harder to get tix if you didn't buy in advance.

Try Sushi on Tropicana for made-to-order all you can eat sushi.

    I am a Vegas regular.

    1. Great, inexpensive eats: You must try Firefly....not too far from the strip. yelp it. love it.

    2.  You MUST see "O" or "LOVE". I love both of them equally. best shows in vegas hands down. Be aware that these shows are not cheap....but wortyh every penny.

    3. For couples: after you see Love, hit up the Revolution Lounge at the Mirage...right next to the Love theatre.
Also try parasol up/down at the Wynn.

    4. Read my "everything vegas" list

I saw O when I was in Vegas last winter, it was worth every penny!  And for more of a laid back night scene, you can check out the after hours club, Drai's.  Our favorite place to get cheap eats is $3.99 steak and eggs at Marilyn's Cafe in the Tuscany Suites after midnight :)  Hope that helps you out a bit!

Vegas for couples..on the cheap.  hmmm:

    1.  Someone mentioned just touring the hotels. If you haven't been to Vegas much you should do this.  These things are a spectacle in themselves and a lot have different exhibits, like white tigers or lions or aquariums, etc.  Some are free, some you may need to pay a bit to get into.

    2. The pool.  Try to go to a hotel with a nice and/or fun pool.  Nice: Caesars, Mirage, Mandalay;   Fun w/ eye candy for him and her: Hard Rock, MGM, Palms.  Some of these places have pool parties on weekends you may have to pay to get into if you aren't staying there.  This is just a sampling.

    3. Bars/Lounges.  All the nicer hotels have bar lounges you won't have to pay a cover to get into (piano bar at NY NY is a lot of fun, may be cover on weekend, not sure). Drinks will still be pricey. So, if you like drinking, go to a liquor store on your way to the hotel from the airport. Pick up a styrofome cooler,  your favorite adult beverages and mixers and make sure to pre-party in your room.  That way you can nurse drinks at bars.   Also, Maragritaville can be fun. Live band, also restaurant, but have never ate there. No cover on weekdays, never been there on a weekend.    As a couple, you will probably want to stay away from clubs unless that is really your thing.  You will have to wait in line, unless willing to slip bouncer $50-100 or are on the list because you are a high roller, getting bottle service, etc.  Plus you will have to pay a steep cover and drinks are super pricey.

    4.  Shows.  I don't hit the shows much, but I would skip unless there is a singer or comedien in town you like.  All the shit you mentioned is hit or miss from person to person as near as I can tell and they are ussually pretty pricey.  One person may think it is the coolest thing ever, and the person sitting next to them will think it sucks.

    5. Food. I am usually too drunk to remember what was good, or how expensive it was.

side note on picking up your own booze...you can also carry down from your room and walk around with your own drinks. So, always bring a traveler!

damn: side not on pools - in general if you want to check out a pool to hang out and aren't staying at the hotel...i would check to see their policy on people not staying at hotel hanging out there...
