You can't "wash off the pesticides": if the food is not organic, the pesticides are persistent and you ingest them

This is the worst cocktail I ever had. My mom was over and I wanted to zone out a bit but this really didn't work for me. Next time I will try adding vodka.

A 2014 USDA report found residue from 40 types synthetic pesticides on organic produce at comparable levels to conventionally grown produce. Organic just means use of "natural" pesticides vs synthetic pesticides. Natural pesticides are just as carcinogenic as chemical pesticides. Worse, it takes more than three times the application of a natural pesticides like rotenone-pyrethrin to do the work of a chemical pesticide. Organic is a marketing ploy.

I liked it but next time will use more greens relative to citrus and will hand juice the citrus. Including the peels leaves a bitter aftertaste. If you don't have a juicer you could hand juice citrus, use pineapple juice and grind the rest in a sturdy blender like a Magic Bullet. Sieve it if you don't want "grounds."

16 grams of sugar makes this an unhealthy choice.

I am lucky to own a juicer. Your recipe sounds yummy!!

Utterly dreadful.

Yes, just peel the lime. The lemon has to be squeezed because of the seeds. Add some ice cubes to the blender as well to thin out a little and keep cold.

Aside from pesticides, even most organic fruits have been "waxed". I've seen statements to that fact in WFMs from time to time.
So, wash and SCRUB those fruits if you're going to eat the outer portions. Or go to a local market and get to know your vendors.

Then, Melissa, you become overwhelmed with angst. Should you buy one? Might a neighbour lend you one, but only if they didn't suspect you were going to try out some really outre recipe in it? Maybe take a handful of vitamin pills, and stop reading newspaper columns that bring on such angst?

This is a delicious green juice! It’s easy to over do the citrus flavor when adding both a lemon and lime. I would recommend peeling most of the skin off a small lime and small lemon when you first make it. If you want more citrus, then you can leave all the skin on next time.

Delicious! I cut the peel off the lemon and lime so it wouldn’t be too bitter. Love the spiciness of the ginger. It’s just sweet enough. I think next time I’ll use mint instead of cilantro as I keep getting a slight aftertaste reminiscent of pico de gallo.

Organic or non-organic, produce should be washed prior to using. Both organic and non-organic foods contain pesticides. Organic pesticides are no worse or better than non-organic pesticides. So take caution and wash all produce. This is a delicious juice recipe

Like drinking battery acid. I felt my insides corroding with every sip.

This was really good! What a great way to eat my greens. I loved the addition of the ginger and fennel. My drink’s consistency turned out perfectly: not too pulpy or thick and not too runny. I will make this again!

A 2017 study recommends soaking the produce in a 1% baking soda (NaHCO3) solution to significantly reduce surface pesticide residues - https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.jafc.7b03118

Very thick. Used a regular blender and had to add juice and water to get it all to blend. We are daily smoothie drinkers in our house. These are ingredients we love, but it’s just too thick and pulpy for our taste.

the green apple, the kale the lemon and the cilantro all came out of my garden, the apple tree the only one not in a container. yum. i need to grow vanilla bean p and pineapple.

i grow my own. fennel looks entirely different. i don’t use anything but water and soil.

i grew my own lemons in pots

I think you should keep this recipe on the site as the comments are hilarious.
