PULASKI BARRACKS, Germany - Brig. Gen. Roger Giraud, commander of Medical Readiness Command, Europe and director of Defense Health Network Europe, along with Command Sgt. Maj. Jesus Gonzalez, present the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3) to Master Sgt. Christopher Adkins and Sgt. 1st Class Sean Jeon July 12 during the Medical Readiness Command, Europe Organizational Day. The O2M3 recognizes individuals who demonstrate high integrity and moral character, are in the top 10% of their Corps and field, have excelled professionally in the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) for at least 15 years, contributed selflessly, and enhanced Army Medicine.

CDC sets new rules for bringing dogs into the U.S. Starting August 1, 2024 at 12:01AM ET, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention set new import requirements for dogs entering the United States. With the recent changes from the CDC, Public Health Command Europe veterinarians strongly encourage service members and civilians, who are moving back to the U.S. with their dog after 1 August, to plan accordingly and get familiar with the new entry requirements.

LANDSTUHL, Germany -- Brig. Gen. Roger Giraud, commander of Medical Readiness Command, Europe and director of Defense Health Network Europe, along with Command Sgt. Maj. Jesus Gonzalez, had the pleasure of recognizing several Army and Air Force non-commissioned officers for their incredible work in hosting more than 120 Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Cadets and Cadre from the Kaiserslautern Military Community June 10. The team from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center meticulously designed the day-long event to inspire, educate, and foster the leadership skills of these outstanding cadets. During their visit to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), the AFJROTC Cadets received a comprehensive orientation of LRMC's mission, capabilities, and scope of practice. A READY MEDICAL FORCE! LANDSTUHL, Germany – The 7450th Medical Operational Readiness Unit (FWD) Det 64 relinquished authority of the Deployed Warrior Medical Management Center (DWMMC) at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) to the 7451st Medical Operational Readiness Unit (FWD) Det 2, during a transfer of authority ceremony July 8. The DWMMC is responsible for tracking all patients being evacuated from Combatant Commands (COCOMS) and serves as the permanent link between the combat theater and continental United States medical facilities. The DWMMC originated from the LRMC Patient Administration Division Aeromedical Evacuation (PADAE) office.

Congratulations to Lt. Col. Hans Kitcher and the amazing U.S. Army medical team from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center for their dedication and hard work during the recent 2024 MEDREX in Accra, Ghana. Roger Giraud, commander of Medical Readiness Command, Europe and director of Defense Health Network Europe, had the pleasure of conducting a townhall and meeting with USAF medical personnel from RAF Lakenheath, RAF Alconbury, and RAF Croughton military treatment facilities earlier this week.

Kudos to U.S. Army Capt. Rebecca Taft, a dedicated critical care nurse from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, for her professionalism during the 2024 MEDREX exercise in Ghana, Africa recently. Her efforts were instrumental in exchanging medical practices, procedures, and techniques with African partners. This collaboration strengthens treatment capabilities and builds lasting relationships. Her hard work is truly making a global impact!

A READY MEDICAL FORCE! FELTWELL, United Kingdom - Brig. Gen. Roger Giraud, commander of Medical Readiness Command, Europe and director of Defense Health Network Europe, along with Command Sgt. Maj. Jesus Gonzalez, had the opportunity to stop by and visit with members of the RAF Feltwell Army Veterinary Treatment Facility during their trip to the United Kingdom this week.

HAPPY 248th BIRTHDAY AMERICA! Today the Army celebrates the birth of our nation and honors the founders for their achievements and sacrifices in the face of tremendous adversity as they pledged to each other their “lives, fortunes and sacred honor.” The Army played an essential role in the founding of the United States as an independent nation and in winning the Revolutionary War. Without the Army, there is no United States!

HAPPY 107th BIRTHDAY ARMY MEDICAL SERVICE CORPS The U.S. Army Medical Service Corps celebrated 107 years of service on 30 June. The Medical Service Corps consists of four multi-functional areas comprised of 23 areas of concentration, and four additional skill identifiers. MSC officers serve in administrative health services, medical allied sciences, preventive medicine, behavioral health, pharmacy, optometry, podiatry, aeromedical evacuation, and as health services maintenance technicians.
