Finding: The parliament in Chad is deeply engaged in the national efforts to achieve the SDGs. Parliamentarians established a commission to monitor the 2030 Agenda implementation and conducted a self-assessment of their readiness to implement the SDGs using a tool developed by the International Union of Parliamentarians to strengthen the legislative branch capacities to support the SDGs. Consequently, the parliament was involved in the VNR process and its report drafting.

Finding: UNICEF and Chad agreed on a 2013-2018 cooperation program, including a component on "Inclusive quality education" to support the most vulnerable children's acquisition of necessary skills for personal development and socio-economic integration. To promote community ownership, a coordination unit in the Ministry of Education included its members and promoted their engagement in school building and management, among other capacity-development activities. As a result, the program was implemented in harmony with community expectations and the government's educational quality goals. The net primary school admission rate, the percentage of children in the first year of elementary school who attended preschool in the previous year, and the proportion of schools that meet quality standards indicators improved.
