LIVERMORE, CA - Livermore leaders, students, parents, and athletes gathered at Livermore High School last Friday to inaugurate the new Livermore High School Aquatics Complex.

The ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated new improvements to the school’s pool and gym facilities. The upgrades were funded by the Measure J Bond, a $245 million facilities bond approved by Livermore voters in 2016 to improve aging facilities.

"New facilities like this not only benefit our students, but also become resources for our greater community. Granada High School's pool, which was completed in the spring of 2021 as part of the Measure J Bond, has been widely used by local swim teams, hosted swim league tournaments and water polo events, and been a testing and training location for the US Airforce and Alameda County Sheriff's Office. We have no doubt that the Livermore pool will experience similar use and we have the voters to thank for that," LVJUSD Superintendent Chris Van Schaack said in a statement.
