LVJUSD Announces New Principals, VPs, Budget Director

The Livermore Joint Unified School District announced a number of personnel changes for the upcoming year.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Joint Unified School District announced a number of personnel changes ahead of the 2023-24 school year, including new principals of Livermore High School and Joe Michell TK-8 School. The new year begins Monday, Aug. 21.

Roxana Mohammed will take over as principal of Livermore High School after serving as vice principal for the past 11 years. She has over 30 years of educational experience as a teacher, staff developer, and vice principal, and has a masters in educational leadership from Cal State East Bay. "I have a deep passion for working with young individuals and believe that as educators, we have a profound responsibility and extraordinary opportunity to both impart knowledge and make a positive impact on their lives," Mohammed said in a statement.

Donielle Machi is taking over as principal of Joe Michell TK-8. She was previously a vice principal and teacher at the same school, and boasts more than 20 years of educational experience and a masters in educational leadership from Cal State East Bay. “I look forward to building upon Michell’s strong foundation of [International Baccalaureate] curriculum and culture of kindness, respect, and acceptance. We hope to shape not only exceptional students, but also exceptional human beings who will make a positive impact in the world,” Machi said in a statement.

The district is also welcoming three new vice principals: Lauren Shiffrin at the Junction Avenue TK-8 School, Lisa Keck at Livermore High School, Garrett Fitch at Mendenhall Middle School, and Michelle Seugling at Vineyard Alternative School. Holly Barker is also taking over as the STEAM Magnet Program Coordinator at the Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy, formerly known as Marylin Avenue Elementary School.

Doug D’Amour, the former director of financial systems support or the Alameda County Office of Education, is taking over as LVJUSD’s Director of Fiscal Services.
