LONG BEACH, CA — A man was shot and killed and another was injured in a shooting in North Long beach Thursday night, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Police received a report of a shooting in the 600 block of 61st Street at about 6:44 p.m. When officers arrived they found one man with gunshot wounds in his lower body.

"Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition," LBPD said in a statement.

While at the scene, police found another man with a gunshot wound in his upper body. He was determined dead at the scene.

LBPD said the investigation is ongoing.
