Breakfast Republic Opens Third LA Location in Echo Park

Breakfast Republic has opened their third Los Angeles location in Echo Park. The restaurant, housed in the former Brite Spot diner space, and is the 18th location for the chain in Southern California.

The design is hip with a cute Christopher Walken image on the front podium stating, “No Reservations, Walkins Only.” And egg-shaped waiting room chairs with whisk shaped light fixtures.

Menu items include churro pancakes, banana split French Toast, breakfast bacon mac ‘n’ cheese, a wide variety of eggs benedicts including a crab and crawfish, ham and gruyere cheese, mushroom and pesto, turkey and avocado and pork bacon varieties. Omelets include a shrimp and ricotta frittata; jalapeno bacon, cheddar and sausage; mashed potato and bacon and chicken fennel sausage options. There is also a variety of scrambles, as well as Oreo cookie, bacon, churro, cinnamon roll, strawberry cheesecake, lemon coconut, pineapple upside down and the current strawberry rhubarb pie pancakes.

House specials also include shrimp and grits, breakfast jambalaya, a veggie breakfast tostada, breakfast burrito, turkey meatloaf hash, breakfast burger and steak and eggs as well as a variety of French Toast options and a few vegan entries.

There’s also a variety of cocktails including a morning mule with vodka, lime juice, ginger beer and bitters; a lager and Bloody Mary mixture; a Drunken Oreo Dream with Irish cream liqueur, coffee liqueur, chocolate vodka and crème de cacao and a sparkling strawberry screwdriver with orange juice, strawberry syrup, vodka and sparkling wine. There’s also a variety of mimosas and Bloody Mary’s to choose from as well as a delicious non-alcohol strawberry lemonade.

We loved the special strawberry rhubarb pie pancakes and the fun atmosphere.

Breakfast Republic is located at 1918 West Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park and is open daily from 7am to 3pm.
