Patch Tastemaker: 'Drinking With Chickens' Blogger Kate Richards

Who doesn't love a little "garden-to-glass cocktailing" with some chickens thrown into the mix? Check out this blogger's top spots in LA.

What's more fun than drinking garden-fresh cocktails? Drinking them in the company of chickens, of course. As the cocktail and content creator behind the colorful blog Drinking With Chickens, Kate Richards has proven first-hand just how entertaining this unusual scenario can be.

According to Richards, a garden is "a place to grow stuff that could go into cocktails," and her award-winning blog chronicles unique libations made with ingredients grown right in her own yard. So where do the chickens come into play? Well, aside from the fact that some cocktail recipes actually call for egg whites, Richards says they're really just there for comedic relief (and some fabulous photos).

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Richards is no stranger to the city's "vibrant, eclectic and quixotic" charm. She also doesn't mind having both the ocean and the mountains right at her fingertips.
