Ghanaian Table Tennis Star to Play in Pleasantville

Dec. 10-11 is the December Westchester Open. Lynda Annor, the #1 female player from Ghana, will participate in the event.

From the Westchester Table Tennis Center: This weekend, Dec. 10-11, is the December Westchester Open. A visiting competitor is Lynda Annor, the #1 female player from Ghana. She has competed at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland, the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville, and has won numerous awards around the world. In 2014 she was named Ghana's Female Table Tennis Player of the Year.

In addition, many top players competing at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas are coming to Westchester to warm up. So expect some especially good competition.

As usual, the open event on Sunday starts at 2 pm and has a grand prize of $1,500. The $65 entry fee for the open is reduced to $60 for any player with a USATT rating under 2500, and to $55 for anyone under 2400.
Altogether there are 18 events with more than $5,000 in prizes. Cash is awarded in every one. Newcomers are welcome. Sign-up can be done at the door.

A first-time event this month is Over 40 + Under 1800 -- players must be 40 years or over and have a USATT rating under 1800.

Spectators are free on Saturday. On Sunday the cost is $10 to watch, or free for a child accompanying a paid adult. A six-tournament spectator pass is available for $40.
