Hot Weather Triggers Heat Advisory For Poway

A heat advisory is in effect through 9 p.m. Friday for the inland valley and mountain areas of the county.

POWAY, CA — A heat advisory is in effect for parts of San Diego County as hot weather continues to impact the region and much of California.

The heat advisory is in effect through 9 p.m. Friday for the inland valley and mountain areas of the county, including Poway. High temperatures are expected in the 90s in the inland valleys and the upper 80s to upper 90s in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

"The hot weather may cause heat illnesses," forecasters warned.

Weather officials recommended people drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Forecasters also reminded residents that young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
