SAN DIGEO, CA —Red Lobster restaurants in three Southern California locations are "temporarily closed," according to the company's website, with dozens more nationwide suddenly shuttered. The closures happened on Monday and, according to social media postings from restaurant employees, the closures came without notice.

The closed restaurants in Southern California include:

  • Montclair: 9345 Monte Vista
  • San Diego: 8330 Mira Mesa Blvd.
  • Torrance: 21233 Hawthorne Blvd.

The majority of California restaurants remain open, but five locations in Northern California are closed. Those include restaurants in Chico, Fremont, Redding, Rohnert Park and Sacramento.

An online liquidation sale is underway for five of the eight shuttered California restaurants.

Various media reports put the number of temporary closures nationwide at 80, but those reports include a list of restaurants that only include two of the California closures.
