Foxwoods Chef Earns Prestigious Award For Pastry Making

LEDYARD, CT — A Foxwoods Resort Casino pastry chef has earned the Pastry Chef of the Year title in the 2023 CRAzies. This annual awards ceremony, presented by the Connecticut Restaurant Association, recognizes outstanding achievements in the region's culinary industry.

Franck Iglesias, executive pastry chef at Foxwoods since 2009, has "consistently delighted valued guests, including visiting celebrities, with his mastery in crafting exquisite cakes," according to a statement.

Iglesias is known for his signature traditional cakes and pastries, including truffles, macaroons, and cookies, which led him to earn the title of Pastry Chef of the Year.

"I am truly honored to be named Pastry Chef of the Year," Iglesias said in a statement. "I extend my gratitude to the Connecticut Restaurant Association for the recognition and a heartfelt thank you to the Foxwoods Resort Casino team, who have supported me in sharing my passion for the art of baking over my 15 years here."

The CRAZies Award Ceremony Gala was held this week and recognized winners across more than 20 award categories spanning accolades such as Chef of the Year, Bartender of the Year, Hospitality Hall of Fame, and more.
