LEDYARD, CT —Fireside Brick Oven Pizza in Gales Ferry will be closed "until further notice" after a fire caused extensive damage to the business, owners confirmed in a Facebook post Friday.

Numerous departments responded to the two-alarm fire Friday morning, The Day reported. Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Company Chief Anthony Saccone told the newspaper the call came in about 5:15 a.m. when a delivery truck driver noticed smoke coming out of the eaves.

The fire was confined to the attic and burned through numerous rafters, The Day reported. While no one was injured, Saccone told the newspaper it's likely the restaurant will be closed for "some time" due to water damage.
