LEDYARD, CT — Construction on Great Wolf Lodge at Foxwoods reached a significant milestone this week as the final beam needed to complete vertical construction was hoisted. The resort is now accepting reservations for June 15, 2025, and later.

However, there's hope it will "be able to move the date earlier as additional construction milestones are achieved this fall and winter," according to a statement from Great Wolf.

Contractors will now focus on completing the "elaborately themed interior portions of the resort." This includes guest suites along with the indoor water park and Great Wolf Adventure Park, as well as various eateries and retail outlets.

The $300-million, 549-room indoor water-park resort broke ground on a 13-acre property next to Foxwoods early last year.

Great Wolf is North America's largest family of indoor water park resorts. The new resort will be its third in the Northeast and its 23rd in North America.

The resort is expected to create 500 full-time and part-time jobs.

The eight-story resort will feature a 91,000-square-foot indoor water park with a variety of body slides, tube slides, raft rides, activity pools, and splash areas.

A 61,000-square-foot family entertainment center called Great Wolf Adventure Park will include attractions like MagiQuest, a live action-adventure game featuring interactive magic wands.

"With the exterior of the building now complete, the focus shifts to the interior portions of the resort and completing all the water slides, attractions and entertainment offerings families will enjoy when visiting Great Wolf Lodge Mashantucket,” John Murphy, CEO for Great Wolf, said in a statement. "We’re excited to provide families from New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island with a close, convenient and carefree destination that offers year-round family fun and helps create lifelong memories.”

Great Wolf Lodge will also feature family-friendly suites that will include themed rooms with separate sleeping quarters designed for kids as either a log cabin or wolf den.

The property will boast more than 7,500 square feet of flexible conference space with breakout rooms, built-in A/V technology, and customizable catering options.
