The National Weather Service’s updated weekend weather forecast isn’t as great as it has been during the work week unfortunately.

It’s not that bad either. First, we’ll be dealing with some showers and a chance for thunderstorms on Friday and Friday night, and some of the storms could be strong.

It’s another scenario in which areas may see strong storms and other locations will see nothing.

Once the storminess ends early Saturday it’s a pretty decent weekend, it’s just going to feel cooler than the temperatures we’ve enjoyed this week thus far.

Here is the detailed National Weather Service forecast:

Friday: Early sunshine turns to mostly cloudy skies and there is a chance for showers and a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Temps will be near 70 on the Shoreline and up to 80 degrees in northern Connecticut.

Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms, some patchy fog late, and temps in the mid 50s. Not much rain is expected unless you’re in the path of the thunderstorms. In Hartford and Tolland counties, some of the storms could include hail and gusty winds.

Saturday: Clouds burnoff and the sun comes out as the day progresses. Temps into the upper 60s.

Saturday night: Chilly as temps fall back to near 40 on the Shoreline and mid 30s inland.

Sunday: Sunshine, cooler with temps just near 60 degrees.

Sunday night: Temps back into the low 40s.

Next week, there could be rain moving in Monday and Tuesday.
