Rockville High School Announces Top 2 Students For The Class Of 2024

VERNON, CT — Rockville High School has announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2024.

Valedictorian Natalie Crowley

Natalie Crowley is the daughter of Kerri and Michael Crowley. She will attend Amherst College in the fall to major in Environmental Studies with a possible concentration in Natural Resources. During her time at Rockville, she played girls lacrosse, basketball, and was a mentor for the Unified Sports team. She served as tri-Captain of the Girls Lacrosse team for her senior season.

She is co-President of the Newspaper Club and an editor for the RHS Rampage. She is involved in
journalism around the school and helps her peers as a writing tutor in the Writing Center. At
Rockville, she is very involved in the Creative Writing program as a Humanities Scholar. Natalie is
currently the Youth Poet Laureate of Vernon, participating in community activities through the
Rockville Public Library. She won a First Class Recognition Award for Poetry from the National
Council of Teachers of English and multiple regional awards from Scholastic Art Writing and
Connecticut Student Writer. Outside of high school, Natalie maintained a part-time job at Moe’s
Southwest Grill and expressed her creativity through her interest in art.

Salutatorian Katherine Larson

Katherine Larson is the daughter of Matthew Larson and Karen Dressler. She will
attend the University of Connecticut next fall to major in Linguistics with a minor in Spanish.

At Rockville High School she has proven to be a well-rounded student and athlete, participating in
numerous extracurricular activities such as Marching Band, Symphony Band, Tri-M Music Society, International & Intercultural Club, Spanish Honor Society, Library Media Club, and the RHS Newsletter. Katherine has been a dedicated player for the Rockville High School Softball team for all four years and has earned her Varsity Letter. She has been an avid member of the Creative Writing Program, winning multiple regional Scholastic Art and Writing awards and being a finalist in the Letters About Literature Contest. Katherine has received many awards for her academic excellence, including the Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford Book Award, the Rochester University Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award, and the North Central Connecticut Conference Scholar Athlete Award.
