Thanksgiving Prompting Changes To Vernon Trash Schedule
Vernon trash and recycling collections will be a little different on Thanksgiving week.
VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Thursday Nov. 23 and Friday Nov. 24, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Trash and recycling normally collected on Thursday will be collected a day early, on Wednesday, Nov. 22, along with that day's regular route. Trash and recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected the following Monday, Nov. 27, along with that day's regular route.
If delays occur, residents should leave carts at the curb.

Trash and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station at 12 Hockanum Boulevard free of charge (no permit & punchcard required) year-round. Normal hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
The Transfer Station will be closed on Wednesday Nov. 22.
