Vernon's Summer Swimming Season Set To Begin

Two public swimming venues will be featured in Vernon this summer.

VERNON, CT — Vernon's summer public swimming season is set to begin Monday.

Supervised swimming will be offered at the Community Pool, 375 Hartford Turnpike, and Newhoca Beach, 185 Grier Road.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. They will be the only two local swimming venues with lifeguards.

Daily fees are $3 for people 12 and younger and $5 for people 13 and older.

Season passes are available for purchase for Vernon residents only. A state-issued photo ID is required at the time of purchase. Season passes can be purchased at the Parks and Recreation office in Henry Park or at one of the aquatic facilities. The fees are $30 for people 12 and younger and $50 for people 13 and older.

The new Horowitz Pool at Henry Park remains under construction. Town officials said they will update residents on its progression. Valley Falls Pond will not be supervised.
