CLEARWATER, FLA – A stretch of Ulmerton Road will be closed beginning late Wednesday night until Thursday morning to allow crews to install overhead signage, the Florida Department of Transportation announced.

Traffic will be impacted on SR 688 between Roosevelt Blvd. and 49th Street North beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday and extending through 6 a.m. Thursday. If inclement weather delays the work, the project will be scheduled for Thursday.

Motorists will be detoured around the work zone using Roosevelt Blvd. and 49th St. North. Signage will be installed just east of Automobile Bld. Access to businesses and emergency vehicles will be maintained and electronic message boards and detour signs will be used to assist motorists traveling through the detour route. FDOT indicated that motorists should anticipate heavier than normal volumes of traffic during the closure.
