ICYMI: Tampa Bay Museums Offer Free Admission Saturday

Tampa Bay area residents who want to check out the local museum scene without paying the price of admission might want to clear their calendars for Saturday.

A number of local museums are taking part inSmithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Liveevent. That means on Saturday, Sept. 27, people who register for a free ticket can get into a host of participating museums at no charge.

The following Tampa Bay area museums have announced their intention to take part in Museum Day Live:

• Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs

• Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Old Water St., Tampa
• Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg, 255 Beach Drive N.E., St. Petersburg
• Polk Museum of Art, 800 E. Palmetto St., Lakeland
• Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 400 N. Ashley Club Cube 200, Tampa
• Explorations V Children’s Museum, 109 N. Kentucky Ave., Lakeland
• Armed Forces History Museum, 2050 34th Way N., Largo
• Florida Holocaust Museum, 55 Fifth St. S., St. Petersburg
• Tampa Museum of Art, 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa
