Let There Be Light in the Shepherd Center

Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center has received a $9,000 donation to install new LED replacement lights.

Tarpon Springs, FL., -- Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center has received a $9,000 donation to install new LED replacement lights. This generous donation kicked off the 2017 Shepherd Center fundraising challenge of $300,000.

The Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center now lights the 33,000 sq. ft. Thrift Store, Community Outreach Center and Pantry with high output, low power LED Lights. Visitors of the Shepherd Center will now be able to shop in a more pleasant and brighter store environment with daylight LED lights. The Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center also saves approximately 50% in energy costs over the old fluorescent lamps.

This achievement was made possible by Mr.& Mrs. Del Fischer who donated 660 LED lighting tubes & lenses. They have been completely installed, at no cost, by several volunteers led by Del Fischer & Bob Darrow.

The Shepherd Center has recently received another $25,000 to recondition a badly needed Refrigerator food distribution truck.

The Shepherd Center $300,000 Fundraising Challenge seeks to continue with the need to repair their 33,000 sq. ft. leaking roof and replace 32 refrigeration units with walk-in units and commercial freezers that will greatly reduce their energy use.
