TARPON SPRINGS, FL — The city of Tarpon Springs Public Art Committee has installed a new sculpture on the Sponge Docks at 735 Dodecanese Boulevard by artist Mike Elwell.

Residents are invited to meet the newest resident of the Sponge Docks and help give it a Tarpon-worthy name.

The deadline for entries is Friday, July 8 at 5 p.m.

From the entries received, the Public Art Committee will select a winner at its meeting on Wednesday, July 13. The winner will be awarded a $100 honorarium, and have his photo taken with the pelican sculpture at an award ceremony.

The chosen name will be incorporated into a permanent sign at the site of the pelican statue.
