'Armed And Dangerous' Suspect Sought In Buford Robbery: Police

Police said the man used a home-sharing site to rent a room from the person he is accused of robbing at gunpoint this week.

BUFORD, GA — The public's help is needed in finding a man accused of robbing at gunpoint the person from whom he rented a room at a Seed Way house.

Gwinnett County Police said Thursday Khalil Hamilton, 26, rented around 11 p.m. Tuesday a basement room at a house he found through a home-sharing site.

Police said Hamilton then texted the person living at the house, saying he needed assistance with a bathroom repair.

While the person was checking on the maintenance, Hamilton was accused of zip-tying the person and stealing the person's wallet and watch before fleeing from the home.

Warrants have been issued to charge Hamilton on suspicion of armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.

Hamilton, considered armed and dangerous, has ties to Texas and Philadelphia, police said. He was last seen driving an older model Honda car with the Texas tag SSF5628.
