Apparently, lots of new parents weren't scared off by "Stranger Things" during the past year. The Georgia-filmed horror series on Netflix appears to have inspired a slew of baby names in 2016, according to parenting website Baby Center. "Nancy" had a 46 percent boost. Rural areas of the country are vast — covering 97 percent of the nation's footprint — but these areas account for less than 20 percent of the population, according to new census data released Thursday. The U.S. Census Bureau looked at how much of a county's population still lived in rural areas, and made more observations about the differences in poverty and homeownership. >>> Read more.

Man Who Escaped Ga. Prison For 48 Years Dies

Robert Stackowitz, the Georgia inmate who drove away from a prison work camp in 1968 and wasn't captured for 48 years, has died. His death at age 71 came roughly six weeks after prison officials decided to waive plans to extradite him back to Georgia and allowed him to stay in Connecticut on parole due, in part, to his declining health. >>> Read more.
