SaLT instills values in participants like engaging in meaningful service, working on a common purpose, and expanding personal knowledge and growth. 
"SaLT has consistently worked to bridge gaps in our community by fostering connections and providing essential support for underserved families Our initiatives&mdash;Shop N&rsquo; Drop, Love2Learn, and Take Care Packages&mdash;have addressed immediate needs and established a foundation for long-term collaboration among service-minded individuals. Shop n&rsquo; Drop, powered by SaLT: Service and Learning Together, provides groceries and personal items on a bi-weekly basis to families who are food insecure and economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Families are still having difficulty affording their basic needs, including paying for food, rent and bills, just trying to recover from the impact COVID has created, in addition to the cost of items due to inflation. By addressing these needs, Shop N&rsquo; Drop plays a vital role in helping families make ends meet, ensuring they have access to nutritious food, personal items, and connections to resources that can assist in their recovery from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Northbrook Chamber of Commerce has served as an advocate for the business community for almost 70 years. They offer a wealth of programs and services ranging from monthly networking programs and advertising opportunities to professional development and advocacy with local government for more than 600 members, representing businesses and organizations of all sizes and types. In addition to the regular programs, the Chamber hosts a variety of special events including a Business-to-Business Expo, an annual Golf Outing, an Economic Outlook Breakfast, and an Auction &amp; Taste.

Northfield, IL, June 18, 2024 &ndash; Fields Mini in Glencoe was transformed into a dazzling 1920s casino and speakeasy on the evening of Saturday, April 20, as Family Service Center (FSC) hosted its 3rd annual casino night, themed &ldquo;20&rsquo;s Night &amp; Casino Lights.&rdquo; The lively event successfully raised $200,000 to fund critical mental health services for families on Chicago&rsquo;s Northshore.

More than 300 guests were treated to an evening filled with 1920s-themed attire, fun casino games, and special speakeasy cocktails. There was also a delicious array of savory and sweets, along with a wandering magician entertaining attendees, adding to the festive atmosphere. However, underlying the fun was a poignant awareness of the ongoing challenges related to mental health and the crucial need for accessible support for loved ones and friends in need of assistance.



"We are incredibly fortunate to be part of such a generous and supportive community,&rdquo; said Chris Northwick, FSC&rsquo;s co-executive director. &ldquo;We&rsquo;ve expanded our offerings thoughtfully during a time of great need, focusing on where our communities, schools, and families need it most. This includes ensuring access to our Spanish- and Mongolian-speaking communities and providing a sliding fee scale, with 99% of clients paying less than full rate. This is all made possible by our generous donors, which for the event included over 100 in-kind donors and 22 community sponsors, including Nicholas &amp; Associates, our generous top-level Monarch Sponsor.&rdquo;

North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) is being spotlighted throughout the month of June on the Community Art Wall located in the lobby of First Bank Chicago. The new exhibit highlights their mission to provide nurturing and engaging experiences for people living with memory loss and support to their family caregivers. 
&ldquo;Most people know NSSC for its educational Lifelong Learning programs, social clubs, and fitness offerings,&rdquo; said Amy Krause, Director of Marketing &amp; Communications, North Shore Senior Center. &ldquo;Collaborating with First Bank Chicago to promote our memory care programs and support resources is a wonderful opportunity to showcase other ways we support older adults and their families.&rdquo;

Participants enjoy socialization, opportunities to make friends, and meaningful activities while their family caregivers get much needed time on their own. Caregivers receive personalized assessments and care plans, supportive counseling, and tools and resources to help them better care for their family members. 
The Day Program is located at NSSC&rsquo;s Arthur C. Nielsen, Jr. Campus in Northfield, adjacent to the main building where older adults enjoy a myriad of Lifelong Learning programs, clubs, and social opportunities. The Northfield center also houses a fitness center and gym, a library, a lending closet, and a vintage shop, where donations are accepted year-round. In addition, NSSC offers many in-home and community-based programs and services to help older people maintain their independence, as well as counseling and personal money management services. 
Volunteer opportunities are abundant at NSSC as volunteers play a critical role in NSSC&rsquo;s daily operations and overall success. Volunteers assist staff in all areas including enriching the lives of people living with dementia at the House of Welcome Day Program, working with older adults and their families through Senior and Family Services, or helping to create a welcoming space for the community to gather, learn, and socialize. 
The North Shore Senior Center exhibit is located in the bank lobby and will be open to the public during regular business hours throughout the month of June.
