PALOS PARK, IL — Grab your elastic waistbands and head over to St. Spyridon Greek Festival in Palos Heights, July 13 and July 14, featuring traditional dancing, music and authentic Greek cuisine.

Fest hours are 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, July 14, on the church grounds, 12307 S. Ridgeland Ave., Palos Heights.

The congregation will be serving traditional favorites including souvlaki, Greek chicken, gyros, spanakopita, tyropita, Greek fries and more. On the sweet side, baklava, diples, kourambiedes, melomakarona, koulouria, kataifi and St. Spyridon’s famous loukoumades, dough fried in oil and dipped in a honey sugar syrup sprinkled with cinnamon. Greek music and dancing will be ongoing throughout the two-day festival featuring DJ Nikita, with dance performances at 7:30 p.m. both evenings.

Admission is $2, children under 12 are FREE.

Free parking and shuttle are available at Trinity Christian College, just west of Ridgeland on Rt. 83 and the Marist Sportsplex on Ridgeland, north of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church.
