Pedestrian Dies from Injuries Suffered in July Hit-and-Run Accident

Prince George's County Police say a Lanham woman has died six weeks after she was hit crossing a New Carrollton street.

A Lanham pedestrian hit by a car whose driver fled has died from her injuries six weeks after the hit-and-run accident, authorities say.

Sandra Luna, 39, of Jeffrey Avenue in Lanham, died Tuesday of injuries she suffered when she was hit by a car July 15 while walking across a street in New Carrollton, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Investigators say that shortly after 7 p.m. on July 15, Luna tried to cross the street in the 8300 block of Annapolis Road when she was struck by a car. She was not in a crosswalk. The driver did not stop. The suspsect’s car is described as a dark-colored Toyota.
