BROOKLINE, MA — Stoked Pizza is closed until Oct. 1, after a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus.

"Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to temporarily close the restaurant for the next two weeks due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19," the Washington Square restaurant posted on Sept. 17.

The employee that tested positive did not come in contact with any customers, according to Stoked owners.

The restaurant said they have notified the Department of Public Health and are working with state and local officials and following reporting guidelines. They said they have also sent all staff who could have had possible contact to get tested.

The last day the employee was in the restaurant was Sept. 15. Staff said the employee is doing well.

"We take the health and safety of our employees and customers very seriously and have been diligent about following the proper mask protocol, sanitization standards, alongside social distancing guidelines and temperature checks," according to the post. "In the meantime, we are having the restaurant professionally cleaned by ServePro."

The restaurant had not yet opened its dining room, according to its website. Stoked is one of the handful of Brookline restaurants that offers a vegan menu alongside its regular menu in Brookline.
