Danvers 'Possible Abduction' Monday Night: Police Seek Public's Help

Danvers police are asking that businesses near Cherry Street and Maple Street check security cameras for signs of anything suspicious.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers police are asking businesses in the area of Maple Street and Cherry Street with outdoor surveillance cameras to check their footage from Monday night and report anything suspicious as they continue to investigate what they called "a possible abduction."

Police said the incident was reported to them just before 10 p.m. and that Danvers officers with help from Massachusetts State Police and surrounding communities "conducted a thorough search of the area."

"As of this morning, multiple cameras have been reviewed and all potential leads have been explored," police said. "At this time, we have no additional information indicating a crime occurred or that anyone is in danger."

Police said anyone with information or relevant video footage on a crime should call the department at 978-774-1212.

"We are aware that there are many questions surrounding an incident that was reported to the police last night," police said. "We always encourage all residents and visitors of our community to report any suspicious behaviors."
