Anti-Gravity Cyborg Ride To Join Six Flags Great Adventure Lineup In 2018

The ride is inspired by a gyroscope and is expected to open next spring, officials said.

JACKSON, NJ — Summer may be winding down, but Six Flags Great Adventure already is looking forward to next season, as the company announced its plans for its newest thrill ride.

Cyborg Cyber Spin, a twisting, flipping ride inspired by the movement of a gyroscope, will join the park's thrill ride collection in 2018, park officials announced.

The ride joins a host of others with the DC Super Heroes themed rides. Cyborg Cyber Spin features a triple box design that allows the gondola to spin around three separate axes while rotating forward, backward and sideways simultaneously at up to 70 feet in the air for intense and continuous movement, park officials said. The result is a combination of negative and positive gravitational forces that give an anti-gravity sensation.

Riders sit 24 across with over-the-shoulder harnesses and floorless seats that leave their feet dangling as they whirl through the air. At night, the ride will light up with what park officials say is a dazzling light display.

The new ride will be in the Metropolis section of the park adjacent to the Justice League: Battle for Metropolis ride.

"We are excited to be adding Cyborg Cyber Spin, the first of its kind in North America. Like the Super Hero Cyborg of the Justice League, this futuristic, high-tech ride will be unlike anything our guests have ever seen or experienced before," park president Neal Thurman said.

Cyborg Cyber Spin is expected to debut in late spring of 2018, officials said. For more information, click here.
