Fans of the '80s tribute band Rubix Kube are mourning the death of David Zablidowsky, after the talented musician was killed in a Florida crash on Friday.

Zablidowsky, better known as David Z, was traveling with the Adrenaline Mob, another band he performed with, when their touring RV and an SUV carrying the band's equipment were struck by a tractor-trailer that veered off the highway while the group was fixing a flat tire, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

Zablidowsky also was the bassist for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and performed with ZO2, the band he created with his older brother, Paul.

Rubix Kube was scheduled to perform at Brick's SummerFest on July 6, but that performance was postponed to Wednesday, Aug. 23, due to a threat of severe thunderstorms.

"They are fulfilling all of their engagements as of this writing," Julie Grant-Connolly, the band's booking agent, said by email.

Fans posted condolences on the band's Facebook page. A memorial service was held over the weekend in New York, according to the Rubix Kube page.

Adrenaline Mob was headed to St. Petersburg, Fla., from Biloxi, Miss., to play a show when they were struck, according to the New York Daily News. Six members of the party were traveling in an RV, while two were in a GMC Sierra that was pulling a covered trailer containing music equipment. The RV had pulled off to the side of Interstate 75 in Micanopy, Fla., to change a flat tire when the tractor-trailer veered off the road.
