Football Season Kicks Off For Brick Township High School
New Jersey's 2023 high school football season begins across the state Friday night. The Brick Green Dragons are ready for the new challenge.
BRICK, NJ — The waning days of August are usually reserved for last-licks trips to the beach, hanging out with friends and soaking in the last bits of summer.
In 2023, however, summer is ending a little bit earlier for high school football teams, including Brick Township.
The season kicks off Friday night, Aug. 25, as the NJSIAA — the governing body for high school sports in New Jersey — made adjustments to the start of the season to accommodate an expanded playoff season.

Brick Township High School, under coach Len Zdanowicz, is looking to improve on its 2022 season, where the Green Dragons went 4-5.

- Aug. 25 vs. Toms River East, 6 p.m.
- Sept. 1 vs. Jackson Liberty, 6 p.m.
- Sept. 9 at Freehold Borough, noon
- Sept. 15 at Barnegat, 6:30 p.m.
- Sept. 22 vs. Matawan, 6 p.m.
- Sept. 29 vs. Jackson Memorial, 6 p.m.
- Oct. 6 vs. Freehold Township, 6 p.m.
