JACKSON, NJ — People who are seeking a peek at a safari experience without all the travel can now make reservations for the glamping experience at Six Flags Great Adventure, park officials announced.

The Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa at the Wild Safari is set to begin welcoming guests on June 14, the park announced.

The "luxury glamping experience nestled in the heart of the 350-acre Six Flags Wild Safari ... promises an unforgettable, first-class experience for those seeking an indulgent retreat," park officials said, in a "one-of-a-kind resort destination where every detail has been meticulously crafted to create a haven of serenity and adventure ... with no detail overlooked."

The experience includes daily gourmet breakfast, giraffe feeding encounters, nightly s’mores and tickets that give access to all three parks (the safari park, Great Adventure and Hurricane Harbor) for each night of your stay.

It's also pricey: The minimum stay is two nights, and for a couples suite, it is $649 per night for two adults. There are family glamping options as well, with suites that accommodate up to six people.

The resort is part of a change from the self-guided drive-through experience that had returned to Six Flags Great Adventure during the pandemic. It also is part of updates throughout Great Adventure, which is marking its 50th anniversary in 2024.

The Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa offers 20 glamping suites that vary in size, accommodating two to six guests, designed with what the park says are world-class amenities.

There are VIP packages that can be added to a stay, for an additional cost, such as VIP dinners that are "an indulgent culinary journey with featured items curated to enhance the glamping experience," and spa services featuring "holistic treatments with expert therapists to promote relaxation and wellness."

Information about reserving dates can be found on the safari resort page on the Six Flags website

The resort also offers event spaces for small gatherings such as weddings or other celebrations.

"We are excited to welcome guests this spring to the Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa, where opulence meets the open savannah in the heart of New Jersey," said Brian Bacica, president of Six Flags Great Adventure. "Our team is planning every detail to create a luxury experience welcoming guests to enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of our resort."

In addition to the glamping resort, Six Flags Great Adventure is set to unveil its 15th roller coaster this summer, The Flash: Vertical Velocity, the first coaster of its kind in North America.

The Safari Off Road Adventure returns, and the Log Flume and Big Wheel are receiving updates.

At Hurricane Harbor, plans are for Splash Island, a new family-centric area "giving guests of all ages an opportunity for some interactive fun in the sun," park officials said.
