A 'Sister Act' On Tap At Strand Theatre This Weekend

The musical is being performed by students of Ocean County's Performing Arts Academy, the specialized vocational technical school.

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A nightclub singer who witnesses a murder and gets stowed at a convent by the local police department — and turns the convent upside down — is the center of "Sister Act," the musical being presented at the Strand Theatre this weekend.

The musical, scheduled for four performances beginning Thursday, is being presented by the students of the Performing Art Academy. The academy is part of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School District and includes students from across Ocean County.

The Performing Arts Academy is a full-time high school that is geared toward students who wish to excel in the performing arts and is a specialized high school program developed specifically for the young artist-in-training.
