JACKSON, NJ — If you haven't gotten to see the holiday lights display at Six Flags Great Adventure but wanted to, you're in luck: the theme park has extended the drive-through light show past New Year's weekend.

The Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience will operate nightly from Jan. 4 through Jan. 10, allowing people to drive through the lights display inside the theme park.

The extra week was added in response to overwhelming demand, park officials said.

Through Jan. 3, the Holiday in the Park attraction, with roller coaster rides, fire pits, and holiday treats will operate weekends and select days, with the drive-through happening Monday through Thursday next week.

Park officials say it's one of the largest holiday drive-through events in the Northeast and the only one inside a theme park. It includes "12 immersive, distinctly different areas throughout the 140-acre theme park filled with an exquisite palette of colorful twinkling lights, live entertainment, and festive music," the description says. "Guests enjoy distanced greetings from beloved holiday characters decked out for the holidays, popular iconic holiday decorations, and much more."
