Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Offers Summer Preview Weekends

With temperatures expected to be near 80 degrees Saturday and Sunday, the waterpark is letting patrons get a head start on summer fun.

JACKSON, NJ — Temperatures predicted to reach nearly 80 degrees over the weekend will have many people thinking summer, including trips to the waterparks.

For those who can't wait to slip and slide and catch a wave in a wave pool, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is kicking off the 2021 summer season with a two-week spring preview that begins Saturday.

The preview will feature many of the park’s rides, dining and shopping locations, prior to the official season launch Memorial Day weekend.

Hurricane Harbor features more than 30 thrill slides including Big Wave Racer, Tornado and Juhranimo Falls, a massive, million-gallon wave pool, half-mile lazy river and two interactive family water play areas.

Calypso Springs, a resort atmosphere within the park, features a 100,000-gallon family activity pool, giant deck for relaxing and sunbathing, and quick service dining.

Six Flags implemented extensive safety measures and hygiene protocols in 2020 and those remain in place for 2021, park officials said. These procedures will be adjusted on an as-needed basis to ensure compliance with state requirements.

Advance ticket purchase and reservations manage attendance and stagger arrivals. Other newer technologies include:

  • State-of-the-art thermal imaging for temperature checks;
  • Advanced security screening technology for touchless bag checks;
  • Mobile- and card-only payments with free, cash-to-card conversion; and
  • Mobile food ordering on the Six Flags app.

As part of Six Flags’ comprehensive safety procedures, all employees are required to wear masks and are temperature-checked and health-screened each day. Gloves are worn as appropriate, per guidelines.
