3 Firefighters Injured From Parking Lot Blaze In Gloucester Township

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Large, thick stacks of smoke rose as a truck and several box trailers were on fire Friday in a Gloucester Township parking lot.

Authorities responded to the blaze at about 3:30 p.m in the rear lot of a business around 1900 Erial Road. Firefighters responded from throughout Gloucester Township and surrounding communities. The flames were contained to the truck and trailers, police said.

Three firefighters were brought to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. No members of the business were hurt. Officials didn't say which business was impacted.

The Camden County Flammable Liquids Task Force was also dispatched because of flammable liquids potentially being involved, according to Gloucester Township Fire District 6.

Residents located downwind from the incident were advised to shelter in place as officials monitored the air. The advisory was lifted once authorities determined there was no threat to the public.

The fire doesn't appear suspicious, police said. Fire marshals from Camden County and the Erial Fire Department continue to investigate.
