Flood Advisory Issued For Somerset County

Breaking: A Flood Advisory is issued for Somerset County due to rain and snowmelt that could cause minor flooding in poor drainage areas.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Flood Advisory for Somerset County due to the rain and snowmelt that could cause minor flooding in poor drainage areas.

Particularly the Southwestern portion of Somerset County was named in the alert, along with portions of Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Salem counties.

"At 8:52 a.m., Rain combined with melting snow and sleet will cause minor flooding this morning across poor drainage areas. In addition, the heavy dense snow and sleet that fell earlier this morning, that has yet to melt, is either impeding flow to storm drains or are covering them. Up to two inches of liquid have already fallen across portions of the advised area," the NWS announced.
