Hoboken's public safety spokesperson, Marci Shapiro, said Thursday afternoon that the park has reopened.

The park is located on the northern end of Hoboken's waterfront, across the Hudson River from Manhattan, in a residential area that was formerly the Maxwell House coffee factory.

At the scene Thursday morning, police tape closed off most of Maxwell Park at 11th Street along the waterfront, as well as the adjoining children's playground. A forensic tent was set up on the grass near the waterfront area.
