NEW JERSEY — The holidays are here, and it's the perfect time to cozy up inside with a good holiday movie — but what's the best holiday movie to start your marathon with? Preply compiled a list of the top 25 most-searched-for films and evaluated how popular they were in each state.

New Jerseyeans favorite holiday movie was Last Christmas. The Garden State went against the grain according to the survey — America’s favorite holiday movies are Home Alone, The Grinch (2018), Elf, Edward Scissorhands, and Happiest Season. On the national list, Last Christmas ranked 17th.

The Garden State's neighbor's in New York stayed with the classic Home Alone and in Pennsylvania there were two favorites, Home Alone and Elf.

To conduct the study analyzed search trends for keywords related to 115 of the highest-rated and highest-grossing holiday movies of all time, according to Rotten Tomatoes and Box Office Mojo.
