LACEY, NJ — A 13-year-old girl was struck while riding her bike, $4,600 worth of fishing equipment was stolen and more in the month of June, according to Lacey police.

Police released their June blotter, detailing a variety of incidents reported throughout the month.

Mutual Fighting/Criminal Mischief-On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at approximately 12:56 hours, several officers including Officer Bruce Carver responded to the area of Route 9 in front of McDonald’s for a report of a fight in progress. The investigation revealed that 26 year old, Steven Landsberg of Bayville and 23 year old, Cameron Dey of Lanoka Harbor, engaged in a fight stemming from a road rage incident which also involved Cameron’s father, 53 year old, Byron Dey, also of Lanoka Harbor. During the incident Byron caused damage to Steven’s vehicle. As a result, Steven and Cameron were issued summonses for mutual fighting and Byron was issued a summons for criminal mischief

DWI, Obstructing the Administration of Law-On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at approximately 21:52 hours, this agency received multiple calls regarding an erratic driver traveling north on Route 9. Officer Tyler Walsh located and stopped the vehicle on Haines Street after it failed to maintain its lane and nearly collided with his patrol vehicle. Officer Walsh met with the driver, 38 y/o Danielle Lustig of Bayville. Further investigation revealed that Danielle had been operating her vehicle while intoxicated. Danielle refused to exit her vehicle and resisted officer’s attempts to remove her. Danielle was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where she refused to provide breath samples. Danielle was issued summonses for DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Maintain Lane. She was also issued a complaint summons charging her with Obstructing the Administration of Law.

Assault by Auto-On Sunday June 2, 2024, at approximately 17:36 hours, multiple officers including Officer Randolph Plis responded to Briar and Laurel for a report of a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, officers met with 13 year female who indicated that she was riding her bicycle east in the westbound lane of Laurel Boulevard, when she was struck by a 2024 Honda Civic, driven by Jeremy R. Huhn, age 28, of Barnegat. As a result of the investigation, Officer Plis issued Jeremy a special form of complaint for Assault by Auto and traffic summonses for Failure to Stop and Reckless Driving.

Theft-On Wednesday June 5, 2024, at approximately 17:27 hours, Officer Lepeshko responded to headquarters in order to meet with a resident who indicated that his black 2008 Mustang car trailer, with a diamond plate deck, was stolen from his driveway located in the 400 block of Ensign Road, sometime between 06/01/2024 and 06/02/2024. The trailer, which is valued at approximately $4,500, was entered as stolen.

MV Burglary/Theft- On Thursday, June 6, 2024, at approximately 1936 hours, Officer Shawn Spina and Officer Tyler Walsh responded to Spirits Unlimited for a report of a stolen credit card that had just been used to make a purchase at the store. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who reported her credit card was stolen from inside of her vehicle while it was parked, unlocked, at the Fuji Steakhouse. The suspect, later identified as 44 y/o Raymond Maggelet of Little Egg Harbor, was seen on surveillance video purchasing alcohol. On June 7th Detective Jesse Dalziel observed Raymond near the Dollar General Store where he was placed under arrest. Additionally Raymond was found to have an active warrant out of Atlantic County for $10,000. Raymond was transported to headquarters where he was processed and charged with burglary, theft, theft of credit card, and fraudulent use of credit card on complaint warrant. Furthermore Raymond was identified as a suspect who stole a motor vehicle from the Industrial Park in May 2024. He was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of theft of a motor vehicle on complaint warrant. Raymond was transported to Ocean County Jail.

MVA/DWI/Endangering the Welfare of a Child- On Friday, June 7, 2024, at approximately 08:16 hours, Officer Matthew D’Antonio and Officer Kevin Tranz responded to 823 Lacey Road for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found a 2009 GMC Sierra, stopped on the sidewalk which had also crashed into a parked vehicle in the parking lot of Atlantic Physical Therapy. Investigation at the scene lead to the arrest of the driver, Daniel Conard, 37, of Forked River for driving while intoxicated. Daniel was charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, DWI with a Minor on traffic summons, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child on a criminal complaint. Daniel was issued his complaints and released to a family member.

Burglary/Theft-On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1947 hours, Officer Kevin Tranz responded to the 1800 block of Lakeside Drive South for a report of a burglary to the residence. Officer Tranz met with the owner who reported that the suspect(s) entered the residence through the bilco doors and removed a pool table. The investigation is ongoing.

Theft-On Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 1055 hours, Officer Jason Nilon responded to headquarters for a report of a theft. Upon arrival he met with the managers of Taco Bell, who reported one of their employees, Nelly Serrano, 18, of Forked River, had stolen an envelope with $450 in cash from the manager’s office. Based on the investigation Nelly was placed under arrest and charged with theft. Nelly was issued a summons and released

Burglary/Theft- On Monday, June 10, 2024, at 21:50 hours, Officer Dallas Gant responded to Ted and Son’s Marina for a report of a theft. Upon arrival Officer Gant met with the complainant who reported several items missing from his boat which was dry docked. It was reported that the boat was unattended for several weeks and upon checking the boat today, discovered approximately $4,600.00 worth of fishing equipment missing. The investigation is ongoing.

DWI-On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 20:14 hours, several Officers including Officer Damian Morrone responded to Lidl’s, 514 North Main Street, for a report of an unconscious male sitting in a vehicle with vomit spewed outside. Upon arrival Officers made contact with 42 year old, Robert Davis of Forked River, who was found sleeping in his vehicle, which was parked partially on top of a curb. Based on the investigation Robert was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Robert was transported to headquarters where he was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, and Open Container of Alcohol.

Shoplifting-On Wednesday June 12, 2024, at 12:11 hours, Officers Brian Holt and Casey Lepeshko responded to Walmart, 580 Route 9 North for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, Officers met with Annabell Flores, age 47, of Lanoka Harbor, who was detained after concealing $120.75 of items in her purse and a reusable Walmart shopping bag and exiting the store without paying. Officer Holt placed Annabell under arrest, and while searching Annabell he located six (6) crack pipes in her possession. Annabell was transported to headquarters where she was charged with Shoplifting, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was released pending a future court appearance.

DWI / MVA- On Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 16:44 hours, several Officers including Officer Casey Lepeshko and Officer Randolph Plis responded to the intersection of Western Blvd and Oxford Road for a report of (3) car motor vehicle collision. The investigation revealed that 41 year old, Kristin Clemmensen of Lanoka Harbor, was operating a 2016 Ford Mustang, traveling west on Western Blvd, when she attempted to turn left onto Oxford Road. In doing so she turned in front of a 2022 Toyota Sienna which was traveling east on Western Blvd causing both vehicles to collide. As a result of the collision the Toyota then struck a 2024 Range Rover which was stopped at a stop sign on Oxford Road. Lanoka Harbor EMS responded and evaluated all parties. Two of the drivers sustained minor injuries. Kristin displayed signs of alcohol impairment and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Kristin was charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor vehicle, Open Container of Alcohol, and Failure to Yield the Right of Way. Additionally, Kristin was charged with (2) counts of Assault by Auto on a criminal complaint. Kristin was released pending a future court appearance.

DWI-On Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 18:33 hours, several Officers including Officer Dallas Gant responded to the area of Route 9 and Laurel Blvd for a report of a Jeep Wrangler driving erratically, swerving all over the roadway. Officer Gant located the vehicle and its driver, 60 year old, Scott Corcoran of Lanoka Harbor, at Meadowlark Beach Park. Based on the investigation Scott was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and charged for DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing, and Reckless Driving. Additionally, Scott was issued a special complaint for consuming alcohol in a park. Scott was released to a friend pending a future court appearance.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle-On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 12:33 hours Officer Alan Abrecht and Officer Kevin Tranz responded to the area of Heatherington Court for a report of a vehicle crashed into a tree in the wooded area at the end of the cul-de-sac. Officer Tranz located the vehicle which is described as a 2006 Toyota Camry, approximately 250 feet into the wooded area with significant damage. Officer Tranz learned that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Berkeley Township. Berkeley Township Police were notified and responded. Detective Brian Flynn also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. The vehicle was processed and removed.

Shoplifting -On Tuesday June 18, 2024, at 15:04 hours, Officer Hyle responded to Kohl’s for a report that an unknown male subject who stole approximately $660 worth of merchandise over two separate incidents, on June 15th and 16th. Loss Prevention provided Officer Hyle with still photographs of the suspect who he was able to identify as Matthew Eiche, age 45, of Barnegat Township. Officer Hyle issued a warrant for Matthew’s arrest. Matthew was arrested on June 26th in Haddon Heights, NJ and logged in Ocean County Jail.

Theft-On Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 2114 hours, Officer Daniel Biel responded to Walmart for a report of a customer’s bicycle being stolen. Officers met with the juvenile complainant, who indicated that their black Kink BMX bicycle had been stolen while they were in the store. Surveillance footage revealed a male subject, identified as 51 year old, Daniel Winfield, of Forked River riding off with the bicycle. Officer Biel made contact with Daniel and placed him under arrest for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Daniel was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

Shoplifting- On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Officer Tranz responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifting that had occurred on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Upon arrival, Walmart’s lost prevention provided Officer Tranz with pictures and surveillance video showing the suspect, Frederick Balcom of Waretown, removing a Go Trax Rival Folding Scooter, valued at $198, from its display rack and placing it in a shopping cart, before walking to the parking lot. Frederick was observed loading the scooter into a vehicle. Officer Tranz prepared a criminal complaint charging Frederick with shoplifting.

Warrant Arrest-On Monday, June 24, 2024, at 22:56 hours, officers responded to the area of South Main Street and Parkers Point Boulevard for a report of a suspicious male on the NJ Transit 559 bus. Officers met with the subject, 71 y/o Brian Petrello of Toms River, and learned that he had an active no bail arrest warrant out of Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office. Brian was placed under arrest, and ultimately transported to Ocean County Jail.

DWI-On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 2:024 hours, this agency received a call regarding an erratic driver in the area of Lacey Road and Holmes Avenue. Officer Spina located and stopped the vehicle on Penn Avenue near Lacey Road, and met with the driver, 51 y/o Robert Vines Jr. of Forked River. Investigation at the scene revealed that Robert was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. Robert was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. Robert was issued summonses for DWI, Reckless Driving, Open Container, and Failure to Maintain Lane. Robert was released to a family member in accordance with John’s Law.

Structure Fire-On Wednesday June 26, 2024 at 15:31 hours, multiple officers including Officer Hyle responded to the 1300 block of Fairfield Place, Lanoka Harbor for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, Officer Hyle observed heavy smoke conditions from inside the residence and was able to confirm that the sole occupant of the residence as well as her pets, were out of the residence and uninjured. Lanoka Harbor, Forked River and Bayville fire departments responded along with Lanoka Harbor First Aid. Detective Jesse Daziel and the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s office responded.

Shoplifting-On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 18:07 hours, Officer Hyle and Officer Lepeshko responded to Walmart for a report of a female shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival Officers met with loss prevention and the suspect, 21 year old, Mary Sharpe, of Barnegat. Mary was observed by loss prevention failing to scan numerous items at the self-checkout with a total retail value of $442.79. Based on the investigation Mary was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters where she was processed and released on a summons.

Possession of CDS- On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 18:04 hours, Officer Labbate and Officer Gant responded to the 900 block of Elwood Street, for a report that 34 year old, Michael Costello, of Forked River was outside yelling. Upon arrival Offices met with Michael who was displaying signs of impairment. During the investigation Officer Labbate observed Michael holding a small smoking device with burnt residue and subsequently placed him under arrest. A search of his person yielded a quantity of opened & and unopened wax folds. Michael was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released on a summons charging him with possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
