Car Slides Off Slushy Road In Livingston, Hits Tree (UPDATE)

A Livingston resident suffered serious cuts to the head after a "bad accident" on Tuesday, police said.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A Livingston resident suffered serious cuts to the head after a "bad accident" on Tuesday, police said.

The Livingston Police Department issued the following advisory around 9:30 a.m.:

“JFK Parkway is closed southbound at Hobart Cap Road due to a bad accident. Please plan an alternate route.”

A Livingston police spokesperson said the crash took place when a 2018 Infiniti Q7 slid off of a slushy road into the woods and struck a tree.

The driver, a 78-year-old Livingston resident, suffered serious cuts to his head and was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.

The road was closed for about two hours while officers investigated the accident.
