As a retired registered nurse, Gail DiPaolo from Manchester recognizes the importance of preventive care. When she saw an advertisement for AngioScreen in her local newspaper, she decided to take advantage of the affordable, non-invasive evaluation to assess her cardiovascular risk. After the 15-minute scan, a nurse reviewed her results. While her heart and blood vessels were in good condition, Gail was surprised to discover a suspicious nodule on her thyroid gland, detected during the neck ultrasound portion of the screening.

Following this, she visited her family doctor, who ordered a CT scan that revealed nodules on both sides of her thyroid. A biopsy was inconclusive. During the testing process, Gail researched top specialists in her area to prepare for any necessary steps. She consulted with a surgeon and endocrinologist Dr. Niyati Umesh Chiniwala at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, who recommended repeating the neck ultrasound in six months to monitor the growth of the nodules. Because of Dr. Chiniwala’s attention to detail, Gail went through additional testing which confirmed a cancer diagnosis.
