A Middletown jewelry repair store was robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon; the suspect had been outside the store talking to the owner:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A Middletown jewelry repair store was robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon, according to Middletown Township Police.

The business is Jewelry Repair and Design, located at 147 Cheery Tree Farm Road, off Rt. 35 and next to the QuickChek.

At approximately 1:57 p.m. last Friday, June 21, the suspect had been outside the store with the store owner. When the store owner re-entered the store, the suspect followed the owner inside and displayed a handgun.

Police described the suspect as a white man, approximately 5’07, and in his late 20s to early 30s, with facial hair.

The owners of the jewelry store declined to speak with Patch Monday.

The Middletown Twp. Police are actively investigating this incident. Any member of the public who may have information about the robbery is asked to call Middletown Police Detective First Class Daniel Sullivan at (732) 615-2120.
