Winter Storm Watch Issued In Princeton Area

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and winter storm watch for all of Mercer County, including Princeton.

PRINCETON, NJ — A snowstorm that begins Friday evening, is expected to bring 6 to 8 inches of snow, and sub-zero wind chill to Princeton. According to the National Weather Service, snow is likely after 3 p.m. on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and winter storm watch for all of Mercer County. But snowfall predictions could significantly change, according to the National Weather Service.

The Princeton Police Department has asked residents to plan ahead for the snowstorm. The storm is also expected to cause power outages and hazardous road conditions.

All vehicles should be removed from the road so that plow crews can work. Residents can park their cars in one of the garages. Snow from driveways should not be put on the roads, as plow drivers are doing their best to clear municipal roads.

  • Friday: A chance of snow, mainly after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation.
  • Friday Night: Snow likely, after 7 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 18. North wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Saturday: Snow likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 23. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
  • Saturday Night: A slight chance of snow before 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 10. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
