BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A new elementary school is slated to open in Bayside near the corner of 48th Avenue and 211th Street for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.

Named P.S. 332Q, the new school will accommodate prekindergarten through fifth grade, but according to a spokesperson from the city’s School Construction Authority (SCA), the school will begin the year exclusively with pre-K and kindergarten.

The four-story school, located at 210-07 48th Ave., has been built to hold 468 seats, the spokesperson told Patch. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
