Suffolk Man Threatened Man With Machete: Cops

He was found about a day later in Sound Beach, Suffolk police said.

SOUND BEACH, NY — A Sound Beach man was found about a day after he threatened a man with a machete in Miller Place, Suffolk police said.

Michael Demeglio, 37, of Sound Beach, "menaced" a man with a machete at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Miller Place, but the person was not injured, according to police. Following an investigation, 6th Squad detectives responded to Demeglio’s home on Block Island Drive in Sound Beach on Thursday and he bolted, police said.

Demeglio was found on Shagwong Drive in Sound Beach around 9:25 p.m. and was arrested, police said.

Demeglio was charged with resisting arrest, second-degree menacing, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors. His court information was not immediately available.
