NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police say a Mamaroneck man's shocking behavior at a front yard lemonade stand led to felony charges.

The New Rochelle Police Department says that on Monday, shortly after 3 p.m., detectives arrested a man involved in a child endangerment case

Police say that 44-year-old Noe D. Calderon, of Mamaroneck, is accused of approaching a 13-year-old boy who had a lemonade stand set up in a neighborhood off of North Ave. He made a purchase from the stand and then made sexual advances towards the child before attempting to exchange phone numbers, according to authorities.

Soon after, the boy and his parents reported the incident to police, who located Calderon and arrested him, charging him with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and felony tampering with physical evidence.

New Rochelle police took the opportunity to remind families, friends and neighbors of young children that diligence is required to monitor lemonade stands or any youth-run businesses that may attract people who are not from the neighborhood. They added that due to an increase in home deliveries and people working from home, in addition to regular service calls to homes, neighborhoods are getting more traffic from those not known to local residents. Children should be cautioned and guidance should be given on how to deal with unfamiliar people, police officials said.
