Lockdown Downturn Opens The Door To Brand New Family Enterprise

When the lockdown forced restaurateur Joe Crotty to shutter his popular Riverdale establishment, a new father/daughter business was born.

New Rochelle— Covid-19 related restrictions have placed financial burdens on most small businesses and the restaurant industry has been particular hard hit, but for New Rochelle's newest family business, those challenges spelled opportunity. When Crotty’s Cheesesteaks celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting featuring Mayor Noam Bramson on Wednesday, it marked the culmination of a father and daughter's dream of becoming business partners.

Father, Joe Crotty was forced to permanently shutter his Riverdale venture last year because of strict city-wide Coronavirus restrictions. Fortunately, this tough break afforded Crotty the chance to finally partner with his daughter Lindsay Walsh who had previously been a stay-at-home mom with two little girls of her own.

"We are so thankful to be a part of amazing New Rochelle," Walsh said in her grand opening statement. "The outpouring of love and support for our new local business has been truly astounding. We feel so fortunate to be working together as a family to bring wholesome food to a community we love."
